This daycare shutdown will affect the lease Google has with MVWSD for the Slater Elementary School campus which they have run as Daycare for years now.

Probably indicates changes due to parents working from home 2 days per week and then living in other areas where they need daycare for fewer days per week or while the parent works at home during the 2 days and then when traveling to Google HQ on 3 days.

As of now Google has dropped 35% of the Mountain View’s office staff. Time to get used to the idea they are leaving.

This latest round of layoffs was hardly sweeping though. They are phasing out childcare for employees. That's more of a benefit reduction. It sounds like it's nearly half the layoff body count for this round. With 175,000 employees this amounts to less than 1/2 of a percent. Plus they also have contract workers, so who knows how they have been affected.

Yes google has 170k employees, but the fact is Mountain View lost 35% of the local employees of the google campus. And yes contractors have been let go as well in more numbers because of the recent EU ruling. Google s facing 2,8 billion euros fine. Time to address the permanent postponement of Bayshore and San Jose. I was warning the city for more than 4 years.

I just read that Google has much more staff cuts under way from CNBC. This is not done yet
