Boosting student success after pandemic should be a team effort, panel says

Two years after California schools reopened their classrooms to in-person instruction following the Covid-19 pandemic, students continue to struggle -- both academically and emotionally. A panel of experts has ideas for solutions.

On the academic side in K-8th MV(Whisman) education / Asian and White student groups have Fully Recovered to the level of pre-pandemic academic performance ('17-'18). However, Hispanic students in Fall 2023 testing have fallen a large fraction of their pre-pandemic "meeting standard" in both Math and English. Hispanics are struggling and there was an existing HUGE GAP (W-H) even back then!

Cal State PTA "State tests are an objective way of showing how well students met the expectations of the grade level ..."

The current and previous academic Math and English data on state testing is available from the state for MVWSD
