Not exactly a blimp, massive airship debuts at Moffett Field in Mountain View

Reviving an early 20th-century ambition, an experimental airship debuted at Moffett Field this month, albeit for only a few minutes before technicians rolled the massive aircraft back inside its cloistered hangar.

Correction needed: The fate of the Hindenburg (though it preceded most of us) was determined not over the Atlantic Ocean, but over New Jersey! NAS Lakehurst. The USS Akron (ZRS-4) was also a Helium dirigible, but it Did crash off the coast of New Jersey. (It had visited Moffitt Field aka NAS Sunnyvale earlier)
