I support this move wholeheartedly. Well-funded and well-functioning news media are absolutely essential to democracy, which is why autocrats around the world shut down independent newspapers and broadcasters as one of their first orders of business. As the Washington Post's tag line says, "Democracy dies in darkness." This is just as true at a local level as at a national level. Good luck, Embarcadero Media Foundation!
