A correct decision based on the constitution. Future presidential candidate Newsom might not like it, but that’s too bad.

Dan Waylonis, for what self-defense purpose would a person need to own an assault rifle? There are other choices, including other types of guns, available that would serve the purpose. Assault rifles were never intended for that use. The amount of harm and deaths that can be caused within seconds of the use of an assault rifle was not, I dare say, what the original writers of the Constitution had in mind when they wrote that law. They could not have fathomed at that time the possibility of such a machine and the destruction it could cause.

There are also other laws in the Constitution that have been amended over time. There's nothing sacred about this particular one.
