Crestview construction begins, converting a now-closed hotel into affordable housing in Mountain View

To the backdrop of active construction, officials convened at The Crestview Hotel on Wednesday to celebrate the start of a year-long refurbishment that will convert the former hotel into permanent affordable and supportive housing.

The $9M that the city kicked in would buy a lot of bus tickets for homeless people to return to their families elsewhere.

The school-aged children in this complex will be in an area assigned to Imai Elementary, one of the highest scoring (and wealthiest high-resourced family) schools in the MVWSD. Academic peer reviewed research on the demographic component of school academic success, shows a rather high correlation with this 'mixing' helping poor family students do 'better than expected' from the average.

Can Chinese seniors also procure Section 8 vouchers to reside at Crestview? I am hoping that MV Senior Center will provide additional application information.
