Board member Berman, "...demarcate space that belongs to kids during school hours". Ah well - that seems to be the board consensus - too bad IMO that the 1.3 AC "Multi-Use-Field (open greenspace) will not be space belong to kids and their teachers during school hours.

Other elementary schools have open fields that "belong to kids (ONLY DURING) school hours" (using fencing and now gates). Now Monta Loma public school kids will not get a similar fence-protected open greenspace field.

Anyone have any updates to the trees which were to be planted at Vargas Elementary?

Thank you DonKeedick. A few months ago, I suggested to the MV Voice that they follow up on the promised, but missing, Vargas landscaping, but have heard nothing from them. I would be very interested to learn the timeline for implementing the upgrades to the currently barren parking area. If I worked at the school, I think I’d rather risk the remote possibility of my car being hit by a pine cone to having it sit in the blazing sun day after day.
