The guy who shot himself while dancing shoulda been doing the SaberDance instead… then he wouldn’t have needed a gun! ????

This is exactly the kind of business we need in Downtown Mountain View. This guy could have pulled that gun out at anytime and shot up the inside of that club or walked outside and shot up the innocent bystanders on Castro Street.

All gun laws are racist.

Seriously Muriel?

He was carrying a tiny little pocket pistol in an inappropriate location which is how he got past security and contributed to the negligent discharge when it became dislodged from his carrying location.

His little pistol contained at most maybe six rounds. Hardly the first choice for a mass murderer.

The vast majority of people who carry firearms legally or illegally do so strictly for self defense.

The business where this happened is irrelevant. The individual was committing a crime, not the business. In fact this business go very far out of their way to provide a safe environment for hard working folks that like to revel in their time off.

People who think guns make you safer are fooling themselves. Their selfishness knows no bounds.

Where’s our freedom to be in public, free from the worries of gun violence?

Seriously Greg - I know your stance on guns and I certainly don't agree with you regarding "this business go very far out of their way to provide a safe environment for hard working folks that like to revel in their time off." No, Greg I don't agree with you on this one. So at this point we can agree to disagree

historical gun laws (regulations) of the Old West
[the constitutional land we are now directed to by SCOTUS?]

You leave your firearm at the door when you enter the saloon /
by Order of the Marshal.

How to 'well regulate' those milita-guys when they drink & dance in public.

Hey Emily Margaretten and journalists at The Voice-

There's a lot of history with this club. I was on the jury for yet another gun case here.

A lot of readers would love to see an investigative story to dig into this old building and the crime issues around it for decades including fights and vandalism. Who owns this broken-down old building and why has it been there right in the center of downtown for so long? Are there connections between the owner and the city? This is the most expensive commercial real estate in town and a really big two-story parcel too, so how are they able to afford to operate for decades when we see tiny but popular restaurants that are full of customers give up because the commercial rent is too much?

A separate article could explore the social fit for the community because it's worthwhile to discuss why something so out of place is downtown. This is surrounded by residential townhomes where tech people and their young families.

In discussions surrounding the proliferation of guns, it's important to consider the perspectives of various individuals. However, it's worth noting that Greg's profession as a gun salesman might influence his stance on the matter. While his insights are valuable, it's essential to approach the conversation with an understanding of potential biases that could arise due to his line of work. Transparency about one's affiliations can lead to more well-rounded discussions on complex topics like gun proliferation.
