[let's just 'forget' "Global Warming" since that has become a Pavlovian term for some people]. Climate Change is here in whatever form you chose to read the numbers - or feel the 'winds of change'. The local environmental movement needs to reconsider how HUMAN ENVIRONMENTS also need to be protected. Sometimes this might best be done, not by Leave TOTALLY ALONE, but by environmentally engineering to live with nature - and protect human habitation.

I'm thinking about the human right to safe habitation and it's interaction with waterways and flooding. You can't make rainwater runoff 'just disappear'. Upstream floodwater storage (some in 'natural areas') is needed. Or poor areas like East Palo Alto suffer MOST. We probably won't have an ARcStorm this year (Porter / USGS.gov 2018) but it is inevitable that this area will. These three organization need to join in protecting us / not just the hills and Bay surrounding us. Humans have been part of this native American fauna for at least the last 22,800 to 21,130 years!

Though perhaps not having an anniversary this year, both Acterra and Grassroots Ecology have a long history of environmental care, restoration, advocacy, education.
