Around the Questa Park neighborhood (El Camino Hospital area) we have had three successful street changes that have gone through this Test, then Concrete process (pilots).

Cuesta Dr going to the border of Los Altos (lane reductions, center turning lane addition, wide bike lanes with increased safety strip zones)

Phyllis Ave / El Camino to Grant (and STOP signs at Barbara) road diet and center turning lane addition.

Similar on Castro St adjacent to Graham Middle School into the intersection at the South end of Castro.

I drive around here a lot! And I walk and bike even more. All these projects IMO resulted in a safer and more livable city. Good luck to you Monta Loma neighborhood!

It is wonderful to see some of the council members who are up for re-election announcing quality of life projects just before the election. I hope the council continues to care about these issues after said election.

News of the new park is especially wonderful, my healthcare provider, kaiser, recently talked about the benefits of 'forest bathing' for mental health. I believe that greenspace feeds one soul, it's tremendously important. The underpass at Rengstorff also sounds amazing.

Re road diet on Phyllis, I know that changes were made in response to resident complaints about excessive speeding, we went from four lanes to two, with turning lane in between. We also pleaded for a stop sign at Hans, that request was denied until an older woman died trying to cross the street, then we finally got it.

Great to hear about the potential for new park space in the ML neighborhood. Not thrilled about the constraints on sports teams... drive around town, especially in the evenings, and you'll see fields loaded up with multiple teams who don't even have full fields to practice on. Spillover goes down to Twin Creeks in Sunnyvale, where apparently no one has seen fit to put in new turf for quite some time. The demand is there for the local space... city & school districts should help meet that demand while still ensuring enough space for unstructured community use.
