Why four months from now? Why not this week?

Just an observation,
There are 4 new variants currently maturing in the U.S. All of which show immunity evasion and significant transmission. The facts are we WANT to terminate the Covid emergency, but as long as it continues to change and we cannot have treatments or vaccines to control it, you simply cannot end this situation.
The Wastewater situation has yet to return to levels before delta and omicron in the county as well. Meaning it is alive and growing still in Santa Clara County.
Face it, it is not over, and no matter how much you want it to be over, it will be over WHEN its over.

"It also enabled the governor to enter into billions of dollars of no-bid emergency response contracts with testing facilities, personal protective equipment suppliers and temporary workforce agencies. Some of those contracts were with untested vendors who failed to deliver services."
Ah, no-bid contracts, the best kind!
"The Newsom administration would not allow the press to name the senior officials who participated in an embargoed media briefing about ending the state of emergency."
Nothing like transparency.

Newsom wants time to "codify" or "enshrine" his super powers without the need for a "state of emergency" next go-around.

Just an observation,
Covid is continuing to shrink our labor resources. And letting g it continue is just making it worse.
The facts are since labor shrinks, it creates inflation. Currently our inflation is at 8.3% down only 1% after increasing fed rates by 3 %. That means in order to reach the Fed Goal of 2% inflation the fed rate will have to be increased to at least 15%.
This means that if any business barrows money to fund operations, or stock buybacks, those will be burning money. The same goes for any gambled investment, especially real estate. Soon only no risk investments will be safe, like treasury bonds.
Since covid is continuing to reduce labor resources, the change in unemployment is being nullified by Covid.
Which means that if this continues you are not going to have any ability to use borrowed money to fund business, it will cost too much to borrow. This is a good thing.
In the end no business should survive if it is funded by debt. That is a Zombie company.
Because business overruled health in this situation, the business sector is going to pay the price no matter what.
If Newsom or any government follows procedures to deal with Covid properly, you can always try to litigate ion court.
But the real issue is that the long-term damage is just getting worse, and those that deny that Covid is a problem are just dooming everyone to a worst case capitalist environment. All debtor companies go out of business. I cannot see any business that exists that has no debt.
