Embacadero Media really needs to do a more in-depth job interviewing these candidates. First, they had the big miss with Ingrid Campos, and now Carrol Titus's background is missing too.

Thanks to the deep reporting of the LAHS Talon: Web Link

"“It makes me mad,” parent Carrol Titus said. “Look in the parking lot, there’s a lot of nice Teslas, new cars and there are no teachers. What the heck! I don’t know of any other industry where you’re allowed to not work and still get paid. It’s high time that they’re back in, or get some new teachers.”

“I would not be in favor of students returning to campus with masks,” Titus said. “I think it’s completely ridiculous. It’s just not supported by science.”

Surely, those statements are worthy of follow-up, no?

I would suggest reading the Los Altos Town Crier profile of Titus-Zambre that revealed that she misled on the paper on her endorsements. Web Link

@Frank Richards. Thanks for the Talon link. Also had noted her campaign site was just a subsection of her company commercial website (donate button next to check out button?).

Thanks for sharing these additional links about her previous comments in publshed articles. I remember her as being very inflexible in her consideration of other parents' viewpoints when it came to the reopening discussion so I'm concerned about how open she really would be to opposing points of view.

It seems like she hasn't actually been involved much with the high school and doesn't have any policy positions. I'm not sure what she adds to the board. This looks more like a way to boost her company instead of someone who is passionate about wanting to help improve the MVLA district.

Thank you to those who shared the extra links about this candidate's questionable motives and actions. Lying about endorsements is immediately disqualifying. The ed tech founder angle raises red flags in what Titus-Zambre's motivations are for running for school board. I would love for the MV Voice (and other local newspapers) to cover candidates with a bit more scrutiny and less fluff. Taking a person at their word when they've falsely claimed endorsements may require another look at this, and all, candidates before publishing profiles.

First question. Did everyone see the 3 comment replies to that LAHS Talon story linked to by Frank Richards? You have to click on the link at the bottom to read the comments.

Second question. I honestly don't know the answer to this and would like to know.
The web-page that this story links to for Titas-Zombre is located on her own company's web-site.
Is that allowed under campaign laws?

Just read the Los Altos Town Crier article listed above. Candidate claimed to be endorsed by the MVLA Superintendent and a Community College Trustee.... who flatly denied these claims when the Town Crier tried to confirm.

Completely disqualifying.
