Cost per unit?

As a future neighbor of these new North Bayshore residents, I'm very excited to see this project make more progress.

While we need these developments, are we also developing plans how to get these residents to shopping centers? The kids to local schools? This location just like the Alta development on Terra Bella is tucked away. I cannot see the disabled veteran on a bike running his/her errands.

@Polomom, I agree. It's isolating the residents even more and making them invisible. Having a roof over their heads is necessary and admirable but removing them from the community by housing them out there, over the long stretch of freeway doesn't provide a sense of inclusion.

Probably74 and Polomom make some great points. Although North Bayshore will be developed into a vibrant multi-use area, what about today? The city should build additional dense, low-income housing in high resource areas south of El Camino, like Cuesta Park and Waverly Park. The Cuesta Park annex would be great!

@Frank Richards: Cuesta Annex is the most underutilized city property. Expensive dog park. Wildlife disappeared with off leash dogs. Trees are dying of age and the drought. This would be the best choice for affordable housing, schools, a bus line, shopping and a hospital near by. That is where you want to house our vulnerable population. Not a storage place on Terra Bella.

Polomom you're 100% correct. Zero wildlife....dogs are the worst hence the reason they're not allowed at Shoreline Park. Most underutilized land in MV. Needs to go. Same with Cooper Park ... keep the park but build on the preschool and the rest of the unused park. Tired of the "up town" NIMBY attitude. Why should they be exempt from having to sacrafice land like the rest of the people "across the tracks".

@Polomom. Yes, QPA (Questa Park Annex) is the least resistance, best placed publicly owned land for this type of development. OH MY / I don't mean least resistant neighbors! Just in terms of vacant land/right price/ right place (If next to the existing large parking lot).

- And, in Waverly Park the bare and dusty site for teachers / school aides / hospital workers in the underused publicly owned Cooper School site (MVWSD). OH MY / I don't mean least resistant neighbors! Just in terms of vacant land/right price / right place (few blocks from Imai School, El Camino Hospital, & public transit bus lines). :)

What is worse - MV solution of North Bayshore (before 'all the rest is in') or PA solution of out toward the Baylands 'next to the water treatment' plant (sewage smells anyone?)
