Driverless food delivery: Nuro teams up with Uber Eats to deploy autonomous vehicles in Mountain View

Nuro and Uber are embarking on a new multi-year partnership to use Nuro’s driverless electric vehicles for food deliveries in the United States, kicking off in Mountain View and Houston, the companies announced Thursday, Sept. 8.

I hope -- and expect -- that this project will be successful from a technology perspective, but I would like to learn more about how it can work from a business perspective. I wonder how many Nuro delivery vehicles will be required for Mountain View and what tasks (if any) they will be performing outside of the 4-6 hours/day when people order lunches and dinners to be delivered.
