West Nile virus on the rise in Santa Clara County as drought conditions persist

As Santa Clara County faces its driest year to date in the past 128 years, county officials say drought conditions are causing a rise in mosquito populations and West Nile virus activity.

One source of mosquitoes is at Cuesta and Bubb parks. I’ve been bitten there in the evenings especially lately. MV Parks water quite a lot and there’s always standing water. Same with Bubb Elementary- the fields there are full of mosquitoes in the evenings
