Congresswomen, speaking in Mountain View, say overturning Roe v. Wade threatens democracy

Original post made on May 9, 2022

Reps. Anna Eshoo and Zoe Lofgren declared that the U.S. Supreme Court going against public opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade represents a threat to democracy and called for the Senate to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act.

Just because there is a difference of opinion does not mean "Democracy is threatened!". The fear mongering, progressive, genocidal culture of death is threatened. And stop using our tax dollars to support Planned Parenthood. Or at least give those that do not support their death squads the ability to "opt out" of our tax dollars being gifted to them and to pay for out of state folks to come here and kill their unborn children. This is why California is going to hell and folks are fleeing this mess of a state.

So much hyperbole from Eshoo and Lofgren. It's okay to support abortion and a woman's choice, but think that Roe was sketchy. Even the venerable RBG was not a fan of Roe Web Link . And to say that interracial marriages are at stake, perhaps someone should look at SCJ Clarance Thomas and his wife.

Completely agree this is not a good use of my tax dollars. We can’t pave our roads fast enough but we sure can hand out money to people who live in other states.

Roe v. Wade was decided by nine unelected justices. It was not the result of debate and vote by the people’s democratically elected representatives. How then is democracy imperiled if it is overturned?

While Texans use the law to enslave their women, and force women to carry a pregnancy to term; we in California will use the law to create an Underground Railroad of sorts to help women who have no other recourse.

The closest comparison that men have is conscription. Where the govt uses your body against your will. But that hasn’t happened in my lifetime. And even drafted soldiers get paid. Why won’t the govt pay these “conscripted” women doing a dangerous job? Conscription without pay is slavery, make no mistake.
