Yet another city counsel who fails to comprehend the task at hand faced by our police and other first responders. Stay out of the emergency public service business and let our officers stay as safe as possible without unnecessary interference from a bunch of nonsensical political yahoos..!!

"The Mountain View City Council voted unanimously Tuesday on a new policy in which the police department must list all of the military equipment it owns and its permitted uses, including close tracking of how much it costs to acquire and maintain, and whether there are any violations by officers using the equipment."

What is so unreasonable about that? Some of us aren't eager to live in a police state. I support the City Council's adoption of this policy.

"Councilwoman Sally Lieber questioned whether some of these tools could be used against protestors at a political rally, which has been a growing problem in cities across the country in recent years."

Indeed it has. Thx for raising this issue, Councilwoman Lieber. Using police to harass peaceful protestors is outrageous. "it would require a proclamation that the protest has become a "riot" that threatens the safety of those in attendance." Again, this sounds reasonable to me.
