As a professor at Foothill College for over 45 years, I am perplexed by our Board of Trustees to terminate the contract of President Thuy Nguyen.
Just ten days before their decision in October, the Board along with the Chancellor and other employee groups submitted the required midterm accreditation report to the Association of Community College and Junior Colleges which accredits Foothill College. That report and the Association’s response are available on the Foothill website. These reports never mention any problems with President Nguyen which would rise to the level that she should be ousted. So what is going on with our Trustees? The Board and the Chancellor need to reverse their decision and reinstate President Nguyen. She is an asset to the community and especially our students. The fact that she wants her job back is a testament to her character and the reason why she is admired by so many people. I hope the Board will do right on Monday evening.

They don't have full, assistant, or associate professors at Foothill College or De Anza.

They are junior college instructors.

Dr. Ken Horowitz is a dentist having earned a DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
As he has a doctorate degree, he is entitled to call himself a professor at Foothill College.

"...he is entitled to call himself a professor at Foothill College."

Entitled or in actuality?
