If I'm thinking of the right place, it's .6 miles from the Safeway on Shoreline. That's not very far. I live twice as far from that Safeway and it's never occurred to me to move so I could be closer to it.

It's strange to hear complaints about the lack of a park from people who opposed a plan that was likely to put a park in the area. I've long advocated a park adjacent to the recycling center.

It would be helpful context for the article's author to mention that the resident with concerns, Albert Jeans, organized the opposition to the Terra Bella visioning plan that the article notes "fizzled." During this meeting, he claimed that a 15 minute walk to the grocery store is an impossible task!

It's darkly humorous to read about the existing residents in the area discussing how the neighborhood is so bad that it would be a terrible nightmare for the new residents. Something tells me their real estate listing when they sell their house will tell a different story...

Not sure why number of stories was reduced from 7 to 6, since Mountain View had recently approved a seven stories condominium just down the street: Web Link

I hope project will be able to underground the utilities (maybe with help from the City), these wires in front of the building are unsightly and will interfere with the growth of the street trees.

I live in apartments that are mainly for the elderly and disabled. A 15 minute walk could be considerable. And a bicycle ride would be impossible
