Mountain View hosts traffic safety meeting in the wake of bike collision that killed 13-year-old boy

The city of Mountain View is looking for feedback on how to bring down bike and pedestrian collisions along city roadways just days after a child died in a bike collision.

No need for grand plans, just park a police officer very visibly at that intersection during commute hours. Take them off stopping people for rolling through stop signs or whatever. El Camino/Grant intersection is simply nuts during commute hours, and every left turn has several red light runners.

The right turn on red is dangerous too, since drivers will be paying attention to a gap in traffic and might miss pedestrians.
