Confused by the new lane signage on U.S. Highway 101? Here's what you need to know

Drivers along U.S. Highway 101 are facing a dizzying array of signs and lane markings between state Route 237 in Mountain View and Whipple Avenue in Redwood City with Friday's debut of express toll lanes.

An important tidbit that never seems to be mentioned is that 2-seater vehicles carrying 2 people also travel toll free. You do have to set the switch to 3+.
