Mountain View's police advisory board recommends keeping school cops, but under tighter rules

Mountain View's Public Safety Advisory Board agreed last week that school resource officers have a place on campus, serving an important role in local schools despite concerns that uniformed cops may do more harm than good.

Article mentions that the City Council would review the recommendations on December 14. However it's not on the agenda for that meeting. Why the postponement and when will the recommendations be reviewed?

A police presence on campus can deter bullying and other crimes (i.e. thefts) while also serving as an immediate first responder in times of trouble.

To downplay their on-site importance is akin to saying that shopping centers do not need more security guards today.
