Thanks to mandatory (goverment imposed) seatbelts and mandatory (US DOT imposed) car crash minimum safety engineering specifications (with testing)
- that Really Mangled car was survivable. Good structural engineers on the car's design team! (hooray for them)

Now - (goverment imposed) safety on US 101 (a federal highway). In a back Texas hill country highway - does the Gov. there prevent seatbelt checks as an infringement of freedom? But on Texas US Highways it is enforced? (just wondering)
