I was glad to read that Councilmember Abe Koga suggested that Jose Gutierrez be considered for an "alternate" seat on the EPC, and that she particularly called out his experience in elected office as a school board member. When Jose served on our Mountain View Whisman School Board he added valuable perspectives to our conversations and analysis of issues. I believe he would do the same thing on the EPC. (I am on the MVWSD school board.)

There's something very strange about Margaret Abe-Koga wanting to change the structure of the EPC in the middle of a meeting just because the candidate she wanted to appoint lost. Once he lost, trying to create an entirely new seat just for him seems inappropriate.

I would like to see new faces rather than those who cycle in and out of the council and into other city jobs. New faces, fresh ideas…
