MV Whisman board holds off on prioritizing low-income students at choice schools in time for next fall

The Mountain View Whisman School District Board of Trustees decided to hold off on changing its enrollment system for choice schools in time for next school year, instead opting to follow a longer timeline that district staff proposed.

Why would implementing preferences in the lottery result in a delay? It doesn’t seem like it should be that hard.

Agree with both previous commenters, the mechanics of the change are not that complicated to implement, the impact will also be progressive (as the number of open seats is relatively small every year).

Maybe the District doesn't want to rock the boat before a 2022 tax measure?
