My apologies if I missed it in the article, but what is Gavin Newsom doing besides declaring an emergency and talking about more mandates? Potentially to conserve water?
Is there anything that can be done/ is being done to bring fresh water in from other areas?
What about the ocean? desalination? Is anything being done in this regard?

Since agriculture consumes 80% of CA water, pricing water accurately would encourage greater efficiency and eliminate certain crops (I’m looking at you, rice grown in the Central Valley). Consumers cutting back significantly impacts total consumption minimally. This is all theater.
