Why do police need a 33% larger building with 100 extra parking spots? Are city council members going to approve even more positions for over-bloated MVPD? Also, a shooting range? Why are our tax dollars going to pay for a shooting range in MV
Invest in community and kids instead!

ah - Why? Look into which council people are most supported during election campaigns by the Police and Fire unions. Why? money in politics talks

We should make it a challenge! If the police and firefighters can achieve a 100% vaccination rate, we'll pay for their fancy new building. If they can't, well, that means that public safety isn't really that important to them.

@Randy - I certainly hope vaccination rate will reach 100% soon (if not voluntarily then by terminating un-vaccinated public "safety" employees).
I really don't understand the need for a shooting range in MV, it seems far cheaper to use a shared shooting range as is done now.
I also don't understand why proposed building in only 2 stories high.... downtown next to the tracks.

No. The police already get more money per taxpayer than the majority of police departments in California. You raise our taxes for this--expect a fight. There is no reason to raise our taxes for this when service workers can't even afford to live here. We need more affordable housing, better infrastructure through sustainable means, and more investments in bringing businesses to the downtown. How many storefronts are empty? How many people are homeless? Is the city's infrastructure ready for the climate crisis? How is the city ensuring water for citizens during this drought and future droughts? What a waste of taxpayer money. It won't make the city any safer.
