I agree on the seriousness of the problem, but this article adds zero value to discussion. Of course the April photos look great -- that's when water levels are always at their peak. Then we use water all summer with no rain, until about November when reservoirs start to fill up again. Any April-to-August comparison will always look horrific. How about showing us an August-to-August comparison? (The fault is partially with the reporting for not asking tougher questions and likely mostly falls on the Water District for putting out such misleading info.)

So, given the current conditions, is work on the Anderson Reservoir being expedited? It sure would be great if money voters approved in 2014 to increase water storage capacity would actually be put to use.

The reason that Anderson (the largest reservoir) is empty has nothing to do with the drought. The Anderson Dam needs a seismic retrofit. That need was determined before 2012 and is according to the water district still in the planning process (Web Link It is hard to imagine that the water district has made this project a top priority.
