Sheriff comes out swinging against county supervisors' allegations of jails mismanagement

Embattled Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith said on Tuesday she would support investigations into her management of the county jail system and other allegations, including possible political influence.

She needs to go! The stench of corruption follows her everywhere and the drumbeat of atrocities in the jail taints law enforcement in the county. The stonewalling makes it impossible for any informed citizen to believe anything anyone from the sheriffs office says. Would you, as a jury member convict based on their testimony?

DID NOT and will not vote for this incompetent and apparently corrupt person. Those who did vote for this person - in the last two elections for County Sheriff / deserve much of the credit/blame for this situation.

Thank you to our own North County elected Supervisor - Joe Simitian, for publicly calling out the dire case our County criminal justice system now represents.
