New California law prohibits law enforcement from posting mugshots on social media

A new law limits what cops can publicize about suspects who have only been accused of crimes. The Mountain View Police Department will still publish mugshots in cases that are of keen interest to the community, as allowed by the law.

As it should be. Innocent until proven guilty? Publishing a mugshot before conviction could lead to a ruined life for an innocent person.
