Newsom could derail this whole right-wing scheme by resigning... we'd get the first Female
Governor in the bargain... Grey Davis could have saved us from the Governator by doing
likewise. Too bad the Democrats have such little imagination.

The name "Gavin Newsom" being well known, the time available for less-known individuals to campaign is relevant for election fairness. The September 14 set by Newsom's Lt. Governor rather than a November date cuts the possible campaign time almost in half. No voter suppression going on here, folks. Move along.
