County, open space district seek to protect ridge from mining

Seeking to preserve a 50-year-old ridgetop easement in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Clara County and the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District on Thursday proposed to join forces against a plan from the Lehigh Cement Company.
