New plan would reopen University Avenue to traffic in July

The experiment with a car-free University Avenue may come to an abrupt end next month, with the city proposing to reopen the street to cars on July 6 and to follow suit on California Avenue on Sept. 7.

Please don’t reverse an amazingly successful experiment to improve everyone’s lives. Giving up a wonderful outdoor setting, in exchange for pollution and a few parking spaces, is so short-sighted and out of-touch.
