Tonight, the Mountain View City Council will ban smoking (including vaping and cannabis) in the homes of any resident not fortunate enough to afford living in a $1-2M single family home; violations could lead to fines and possibly eviction -based on lease-. At the same time, Mountain View can't mandate all its public safety employees to get the COVID vaccine as a condition of continuous employment or continuous contact with the public? Seriously? Something's askew in public health policies in our government.

I doubt the Police Union is going to pay fines the County might start imposing next week for unvaccinated employees not following safety protocols. City needs to step in before the fees start to come out of our taxes.
