Newsom announces $450-per-student incentive to reopen schools

After painting a dark forecast for the pandemic earlier this week, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday offered parents and students some hope: He has a $2-billion plan for schools to start in-person learning by spring.

Not mentioned in the article was that private schools have chosen a less restrictive process, unencumbered by the powerful CA teacher's union. A better decision would be to put the purchasing power into the hands of the parents and let them choose how to spend their education dollars.
