Santa Clara County court employees say lax rules, spotty enforcement put them at risk of COVID-19

Santa Clara County Superior Court employees say they're not being protected from COVID-19, and they fear for their health and safety every day they go to work.

Appalling. And sadly, and stupidly, about par for the course in terms of what's been happening everywhere. You know what causes COVID-19? People.

I suggest that the employees their take this kind of action:

Lodge a formal complaint to the OSHA related agencies AND

Serve notice that until it is PROVEN safe to work at the courts, DON'T go to work.

You can't be COMPELLED to enter an unsafe workplace.

Especially given the current state of the COVID spread.

If that puts a pause on all legal proceedings, so be it.

I am surprised the California Judicial Committee hasn't yet ordered the non-essential court actions be stopped yet.

Par for the course under Laurie Smith's rein as county sheriff. Ask her. Maybe she will "take the 5th" as she did when asked about the selling of concealed weapon permits.
