The latest state data (CDE/EdSource/FCMAT partnership) shows MVWSD had 1110 English learners, 778 from Spanish speaking families. 2019-20 the new English Fluent # was 151, down from a 3 yr average of 300 (Palo Alto's by contrast increased about 3%)

An experienced bi-lingual educator / administrator like Candidate Laura Ramirez Berman very well understands these issues! The MVWSD has a 3:1* academic achievement advantage for White:Hispanic kids according to district cited local research (*in an 'advantage over the state norm' metric).
