It would be interesting to have a deeper understanding of what is going on here. This project was approved a long long time ago, and I recall that there was a huge amount of money going into preparing the site for..8 vehicles. The Shoreline and Evelyn sites went up very fast, in contrast, and hold way more vehicles. Love to know more about why such a difference and hope there are lessons learned on how to serve more people in a shorter period of time. True that one was conceived pre-covid and the other two post-covid which may be how the red tape is reduced to get projects up and running.

Based on a census of homeless and those who need safe parking, those in need should be apportioned to the County and each city according to its population size. Mountain View should not have to have more than its fair share of those in need. If this were done, watch how fast the rich cities move to establish suitable housing (elsewhere, of course) for all those in need.

Jack, I don't know if you've been asleep for the last twenty years, but Mountain View IS a rich city without suitable housing. And you fulfilled your prediction by suggesting that people build homes elsewhere...
