By definition, the Positive Test count methodology undercounts the most recent 5-7 days, as the number reported today gets assigned back to the date of the actual test. So the most recent 5 days are incomplete and undercounted; the results of today's testing won't get assigned to today until the test results are analyzed several days from now.

Can we presume that the State counting calculations will not include the most recent 5 days, since including them would result in erroneous under-reporting?

Arbitrary criteria with no explanation or reasoning. Misleading, pessimistic, and ghastly colors. This seems like a product of the Newsom administration.

As more data is gathered and disseminated by the CDC, the pandemic reaction by the state is looking more and more overbearing and counterproductive.

Well, there's Dan Waylonis's assessment in September. Let's take a look at what he had to say way back in April towards the beginning of the pandemic:

One might expect him to have adjusted his diagnosis now that 180K Americans are dead from the disease. But not Dan!

You are trying to make a mountain out of a dust particle. It would be valid if:

EVERYONE wears masks the correct way ALL the time.

EVERYONE minimizes close contact (less than 6 foot) to the extent that no one can spread the virus.

EVERY business practices environmental sanitization at least to the extent that after EACH customer a workplace is sanitized.

EVERY indoor air environment is providing air filtration or sterilization continuously.
