As an IT Security expert with a CISSP, I am VERY concerned.

Under the Code of Ethics in the ISC2 this action should get him disqualified from being a CISSP for life. He also should never work in the IT profession ever again no matter what.

Under the criminal law, I want him in prison for dragging me and my peers down for his unbelievable behavior.

Under civil law, I want UBER to have to pay a just compensation for this data spillage.

Spilling Drivers Licenses is very serious, these people have to get their licenses reissued.

This should come to at least $3,000 per person per incident for just compensation.

This guy really just made my profession look like a joke, I am so angry.

I remember one poster that was in effect saying people who work in these positions were not worthy of being listened to because their work is so insignificant. We were only "tech" workers with no significant values to the community.

This proves that when one does bad things, like this individual did, they do serious damage to everyone.

Fortunately, I have proven myself worthy of my assignments and I never had any issues like this, i was proactive and prevented this kind of mess.

But the people here don't seem to understand how much damage this guy did.

I understand. But will a judge/jury? If they (eventually) do will final sentence (if convicted) reflect sequential Maximum time in Federal prison? This is 5yr + 3yr = 8 years.

I think we really need to revise these laws, don't you?

As a "peer" i want accountability to be strengthened. To me the sentences should be proportional to the number of records he tried to cover up.

We really need to get the laws enhanced, thus it will not be so easy to disregard your responsibility.

NO ONE should feel that it is ACCEPTABLE to take a slap on the wrist.
