Caltrain gets a lifeline after counties strike compromise on tax measure

The Santa Clara County board of supervisors on Tuesday threw its support behind placing a tax measure to fund Caltrain operations on the November ballot -- a move that offers the transit agency a lifeline after weeks of uncertainty.

The pandemic has been a forcing function to show how anachronistic businesses and services should be eliminated. Caltrain is a perfect example of an expensive, inflexible, and unscalable transportation method. Don't get me started on High-Speed Rail!

Dan, we take it you don't ride the train much. Despite your assertion, many Bay Area residents find Caltrain to be quite serviceable.

Additionally, work is currently being done to electrify the trains. Are you suggesting they just throw up their hands and quit?
