Condolences to family and other loved ones. But the article is about a man named Kenneth Smith driving a Lexus at 5:40 pm on Saturday, July 11 on 280 near El Monte at over 100 mph. A man who was found without even a seatbelt on. According to the article, there was no report yet on "impairment" such as alcohol in his system. There are many persons named Kenneth Smith in San Jose. In the future, a middle name or date of birth would be helpful. Readers could then at least do something a reporter might do: look online for civil and criminal cases that could shed light of what occurred.

Smitty was a fixture in the Bay Area for decades.
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our co-owner, Ken Smith, who has been with Andy’s Barbeque since 1976. For the time being, Andy’s will be closed tomorrow, July 16th, until further notice while we handle arrangements and regroup. We will inform you of our reopening as soon as possible. In the meantime, please feel free to share any memories of Ken in the comments below. Thank you.
