Town Square
Plexiglas shields and temperature screenings. Workspace changes won't look too radical, but they may feel invasive.

Our two story office building (accountants, attorneys, financial planners, brokers) went into total lockdown on 16 March with no prior notice. Customers were not allowed in and the signage was intimidating. No mail or packages could be delivered and so were lost. The telephone system, including internet, went down so they could not reach us for a week. We could not access voicemail.
We will never know the customers and business we lost. Several businesses left permanently. Now it is very quiet.
When we asked about air filtration in the building, the owners said they used the least effective model and did not know when it was last changed. There are no windows to open.
We were able to self-police ourselves as essential workers and so far no one has tested positive or fallen ill. We wipe down our areas with alcohol and use masks, wash hands, etc. and meet people outside when possible. The support staff was useless.

Do we know when offices can reopen? Do we know when at least a percentage of workers can return to their working environment?
The problems for working from home are different for different people.
Some enjoy the fact that they can work at home without a commute while in their pajamas.
Others have much bigger problems. Sharing the living space with other family members, the lack of a/c on a hot day, and the constant interruptions from someone else using the kitchen bar or needing to clear the table to eat dinner can cause family problems.
We need to be able to get those workers back to a work environment where they can concentrate and focus on work to remain productive. What may have been possible when temperatures were lower and kids were doing school work are no longer possible.
Get us back to work!
