County sets aside $55M from budget for hospitals due to COVID-19

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved over $55 million in emergency funding Tuesday for Santa Clara Valley Medical Center hospitals and clinics to respond to the pandemic.

Perhaps people have decided not to have elective procedures at all.
Where did the money go?
A few years ago, El Camino Hospital wrote off a $700,000 loan to a doctor. Taxpayers paid for that! Let's hope this is not that same waste of our money.
