Given the size of the State's deficit, really hard to understand how Mountain View doesn't currently projects any cuts in its 2020-2021 budget. One set of projections might be off, let's hope that's the State's.

Time to tighten the belts nd be frugal in all realms.
As it is, public service has deteriorated and we can do without much of it. As we have over the past two months.
Priorities must be set at the individual and state levels. Do you really need that new phone, tv , appliance or service options from the internet and tv provider? Can you do your hair and nails at home? Grow a small vegetable garden. Transportation money can be saved by working from home. Avoid prepared food and cook from scratch. Line dry your clothes.
Cut out the bureaucracy at all government levels. And ask what they have done with our tax money. No alternative facts, please.

All of this is just attack Prop 13 because the useless Dems don't know how to control the money coming in.

It's obvious the liars in officed just don't get it. Right now the state is crippled people unemployed and all they can talk about is more taxes. How about getting rid of half the govt. most programs are a waste and make schooling permeantently online. Get rid of the unions, they are the cause of most Non govt business failures, and now they want to make the whole state a failure.

How can they lie and say we had a surplus, When medical and pensions funds have been in a hole to the sum of 50 billion. The problem is the unions and king size salaries they give to themselves. The 4 governing families of CA are geared to run us into the ground so they can bring communimum to us.

THE PROBLEM IS AN OVERBLOATED GOVT, THAN NEEDS A FAT REDUCTION.

Unfortunately I think we can thank Gray Davis for his very generous pension plan changes for public employees for causing much of CAs ever increasing expenses.

"thank Gray Davis"

And can thank Ronnie Raygin for allowing municipal employees to unionize, by signing the Meyers Milias Brown Act, in 1968.

Damn commie.

Budget deficit? Deep cuts ahead? Who knew?

Then why did the Mountain View School Board just past generous raises on the sly?

Gee, I can't wait to see if Jose Gutierrez gets elected. He'll be passing out money and raises while he removes rent control.

I just remember when GRay Davis was targeted by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, And William Lay of ENRON.

They colluded to rip off the state the electricity resources, staged blackouts by shutting off generators, rerouted electricity into Nevada to avoid the Cal PUC regulations regarding prices.

Here is a resource to review (Web Link

This started the crisis we are seeing today. Billions of dollars were stolen by Enron, that were never returned.

Not only that, but Billions of dollars were lost by California investors including state and local pension funds.

So before trying to lay the blame on anyone, lets look at the entire history.

In fact Arnold Schwarzenegger was placed into the Governorship to continue the theft and protect these guys.

DEEP DEEP cuts people. And don't even think about raising a single tax. The well has run dry.

Close the libraries. Fire the parks and rec staff. Cut every other department by 50% for starters.

Pay cuts for those that are left. I've had pay cuts in the past and expect one in the near future.

Cut cut cut until your debits equal your credits.

It's going to be a big change but it has to happen.

And looking to the Federal government makes no sense. They're just printing money at this point. Our grandchildren and their children will get stuck with that bill. Think about the future before you borrow against it.

@The Business Man. When it came time for Kenneth Lay to serve a prison sentence, he suddenly died - but maybe only in the way criminals in so-called "witness protection" die - not at all. Lay may be vacationing with Jeffrey Epstein as we chat.
