Bring police and fire from four different cities to gaggle and ignore social distancing. Bad example for all. And I just don't get the point or purpose of medical personnel posing on police motorcycles. How much overtime was dumped into this foolish display?

Ridiculous. The real heroes are in the nursing homes that are getting decimated, 52 of 127 deaths!! Doctors won't even visit them in person. It's all by video conference while low paid care workers are the ones really exposed. You would know if you had a family member afflicted.

The county stats alone will show you just how little the crisis is affecting our communities public hospitals and health systems while nursing homes account for over one-third of deaths. And I certainly don't see any parades in front of them nor staff posing on police motorcycles. This is just showboating and phony hero worshiping nonsense.

Furthermore as I state previously per the county's public orders they are in violation of the shelter in place and social distancing. First responders are jeopardizing other first responders. The respective chiefs of every department involved should be fired. They are paid well and have jobs, they don't require to be recognized. My God, this isn't any where like New York City. Not any where close. Pathetic and an embarrassment.

The Voice should stop reporting on such low-level fluff and get out and report real issues with a critical eye.

Mercury News this morning says that these parades are illegal. Obviously if the cops themselves are doing it then nobody's gonna stop them. But it shows how bogus some of the restrictions are.

1. The healthcare workers are still employed and getting paid unlike many of their neighbors
2. The hospitals are half empty with very few, if any, CoVid patients so they have reduced (rather than increased) workloads
3. They’re healthcare workers. They work with sick people and certainly knew that they might come in contact with infectious diseases before they aspired to those jobs. It’s an occupational hazard for which they are well paid. “Hero” is a real stretch.

With regards to occupational hazards they knew they might come into contact with, I've been saying the same thing about police, firefighters, and the military. Like our President has said, they knew what they were signing up for. I'm sure you'll agree, not a hero among them!
