If you have ever watched a construction site for a period of time you will notice that construction crews already social distance themselves. Its part of the safety briefs in the morning to watch each other but not be right next to each other while working. That is more for physical safety as construction equipment and supplies are moved around the site. When you put up framing you are usually more that fifteen feet apart. Construction crews wear respirators and mask all the time due to the dust and debris in the air already. They wear gloves all the time. When they eat they find a place and usually a few feet apart already. The construction sites have so much air flowing through the safety warning about six in confined spaces don't apply. What does this all mean...Don't panic. The greater the financial impact on workers the more problems we'll have down the road.

Really? The construction project next to Graham Middle School hasn't stopped. Driving by there you still see plenty of trucks. Is this just a matter of selective enforcement?

I must say it is nice not to have to listen to surround sound of nail guns, hammers, and drills 7am to 6pm while stuck at home without any escape route.

No one could possibly be so ill-informed, so I have to imagine this was rhetorical. Do you think that working in a restaurant, grocery store, or hospital protects you from COVID-19 as well? Either way, I'll explain it to you: building affordable housing is deemed an essential service, something that we especially need with so many homeless in the area. People lose their jobs. Not everyone has the opportunity to work from home. What should a builder do in such a situation? The only answer that comes to my mind is not to be discouraged and consider quarantine as a great opportunity to spend more time with your family, enjoy your favorite hobby, play sports, renew their SST trainings Web Link online, and maintain immunity. It is useful to say that the coronavirus behaves very similar to the flu virus, in terms of symptoms, mortality (2%), contagion, and prevalence among the elderly. But the flu virus does not have this impact on the global economy.

The fact that we might be forced to go back to phase 1 is going to drive it to a halt.

As many doctors predicted, the relaxing of social controlling is making it spread more rapidly.

And many of these workers travel hours to work. In group transport. No distancing.

It is a disaster in the making.

Why can't we all just understand we are in a World War against COVID?

Many documentaries have discussed how a virus could wipe out the human race. And it is not science fiction, like an alien attack, it is REAL.

And we need to marshal a world medical army to defeat it?

Instead you have businesses lobbying to prevent this. And worse trying to enable the enemy to attack more of us.
