$15 million is peanuts to Facebook and will do little for all of the small businesses in the Bay Area. This is just inexpensive PR (public relations) and a way to increase Facebook business. The $3,300 per small business could keep afloat a hogdog stand for a month or two.

FB earned approximately $20B in profits in 2019: Web Link $100M represents one half of one percent of last year's profits. With folks stuck at home, and spending more time on FB, profits will be even higher this year. Yes, it's nice that local small businesses will get a small infusion of much needed cash from FB. But, really, half a percent? At a time like this?

That's great, I manage an altruistic fund I set up in my retirement, and while I may donate significantly more than you, I certainly appreciate YOUR donation as I do Facebook's.
You must be most angry at all the people who donate nothing though, correct?

$15 Million is not even petty cash to Facebook.
Their recent evaluation made them worth $218 Billion.
Surely they can provide much more, say perhaps as much as $10 Million for housing assistance in Mountain View every 3 months.
Then another $10 Million for business grants in Mountain View every 3 months?
This will probably protect the City from the devastation that is occurring right now.
