City creates $750,000 relief fund to save struggling small businesses

The Mountain View City Council voted to create a special relief fund to save the city's numerous small businesses that have been forced to close or scale back operations in response to the new coronavirus.

Who writes your headlines?

"City creates $750,000 relief fund..."?

Let me put it to you that the City Council created nothing. The Mountain View Council decided to SPEND TAXPAYER MONEY.

I have a suggestion: Why doesn't the City Council CREATE $100M fund and pay it out to the voters? Now that would be a neat trick.
