This is a great review of how different school systems in the area are dealing with distance learning. Thank you for putting this together.
I've heard that some Gunn seniors put together a spreadsheet to help each other with AP class content. Great that students are stepping up like this.
I've been teaching classes via Zoom (www.svkarate.com), where I have students from almost every school district listed in this article. We are adapting.
If you are a parent of a student complaining of boredom, please encourage them to check out the many great presentations at Web Link and/or Web Link And also make sure they get outside for some exercise and fresh air. And enjoy the extra time with your family. We generally don't get enough of it...

Too bad the MVWSD is not taking this web access as seriously as some of the other elementary districts. Didn't someone write that they have 200 students known to have no home internet? What about those students who are not at Castro, Mistral, or Monta Loma? I guess that is what "the picture" is. Several boxes of paper handouts - to those families if they come in person, but web access to the majority of wealthier/luckier families. Voice reporting picture page 5 in the paper version.
Digital Divide is what other news organizations have called this general situation.
The teachers have no cost of living increase and an expired contract. The Superintendent got a 14% salary boost at the start of the year. Over $20 million dollars in cash reserves. And yet poor families at some elementary schools have NO PRIORITY to get help connecting district Chromebooks to the internet learning opportunities.
